BMW E36 Inspection I & Inspection II

Inspection I

Inspection I is BMW's intermediate service and includes the following checks and maintenance items.

Service Item	Description
Engine Oil & Filter	Replace engine oil and oil filter.
Cooling System	Inspect radiator, hoses, expansion tank, and coolant level.
Drive Belts	Inspect for wear, cracks, and proper tension.
Brakes	Inspect pads, rotors, hoses, and fluid level.
Steering & Suspension	Check tie rods, ball joints, bushings, shocks, and mounts.
Tires	Inspect tread depth and tire pressures.
Battery	Check battery condition and terminals.
Lights	Verify operation of all exterior and interior lighting.
Windshield Washers	Check fluid level and wiper blade condition.
Road Test	Verify vehicle operation and check for unusual noises.

Inspection II includes all Inspection I items plus the following additional services.

Additional Service Item	Description
Air Filter	Replace engine air filter.
Cabin Microfilter	Replace cabin air filter.
Fuel Filter	Replace fuel filter.
Spark Plugs	Replace spark plugs.
Differential Inspection	Check for leaks and condition.
Driveshaft Inspection	Inspect guibo, center support bearing, and U-joints.
Exhaust System	Inspect exhaust system, mounts, and heat shields.
Parking Brake	Inspect and adjust parking brake operation.
Underbody Inspection	Inspect brake lines, fuel lines, and chassis components.
Diagnostic Check	Check service indicators and stored fault codes.
